Val di Sieve

Small villages immersed in nature along the banks of the Sieve river

The green abounding beechwoods, rows of cypresses and vines, are an integral part of Val di Sieve. This enchanting area goes from the final part of Sieve river valley to Pratomagno Fiorentino, and includes the ancient villages of San Godenzo, Pelago, Ruffina, Pontassieve, Londa, Dicomano, San Piero a Sieve and Vaglia. These are all small hilly centres, waiting to be discovered, built on the Monte Falterona and Monte Giove ranges, following the river Sieve until it merges with the Arno.

This area has been inhabited since the Etruscan times, thus full of history and uncontaminated nature. Val di Sieve offers the visitor many changing natural views going from sunflower and wheat fields to chestnut woods. The choice of nature ranges from the rugged beauty predominant in the Tosco-Romagnolo Appenines, green luxuriant hills full of streams flowing into the Sieve and many ancient country farms and Chianti vineyards. A land worth visiting at leisure in order to appreciate it fully.
