Celebrating 150 years since the unification of Italy, the TTC has organised a bike tour through the city, highlighting the places which were central to unification. Meet at the bike rental office in piazza della Stazione, and from there head to piazza Indipendenza, where the pre-unification democratic uprisings of 1859 took place. From here, make your way along the Viali, which were created when the old city walls were demolished and Florence became the capital of Italy. The route passes through piazza della Libertà and piazza Donatello, where you can visit the English cemetery. After a brief stop at the Sant'Ambrogio market, the tour ends up back in piazza della Stazione.
