Within the medieval walls of Volterra, autumn is celebrated with Volterragusto, an event dedicated to white truffles and the traditional products of the Alta Val di Cecina.

November is one of the key months of the 50 Days of Cinema in Florence, the major film series that brings together 9 international festivals at the Cinema La Compagnia and other venues around the city.

In Palazzo Strozzi in Florence, the exhibition Broken. The Power of the Fragment transcends centuries and cultures to convey the allure of what is incomplete, fragmented or transformed by time.
More than 80 works and artifacts see an intermingling of archeology, ancient art and modern and contemporary art, touching on ancient Egypt, classical Greece, Michelangelo, Rodin, Louise Bourgeois, Francesco Vezzoli and Danh Vo.
The fragment thus becomes not only a testament to something that has been lost but also a starting point for new interpretations and meanings. The exhibition is open to the public through January 24, 2027.
Also in Florence, the Museo degli Innocenti is hosting a major exhibition on the Florentine period of Artemisia Gentileschi, one of the most fascinating figures in 17ᵗʰ-century painting.
It was in Florence that the artist reached a new level of professional maturity, being the 1ˢᵗ woman admitted to the Academy of Fine Arts, receiving important commissions from the Medici family and coming into contact with figures such as Galileo Galilei and the artists of her time.
The exhibition offers a deeper look into a pivotal phase of her artistic and personal life and even features 2 masterpieces by Caravaggio. The exhibition runs through spring.
The culinary journey through November continues in San Giovanni d’Asso, in the heart of the Crete Senesi, with the Mostra Mercato del Tartufo Bianco delle Crete Senesi (White Truffle Fair of the Crete Senesi).
On the weekends of November 7–8 and 14–15, the small village celebrates one of the region’s most prized products with the 40ᵗʰ edition of the event.
The white truffle serves as the central theme for exploring the landscape and culinary culture of the Crete Senesi, through tastings and events dedicated to this exceptional product.
