Montecatini Terme’s Contemporary Art Museum is located in the Villa delle Ortensie, a small palace built in the 1800s that was purchased by Academy members in 1972. The Dino Scalabrino Art Academy is a moral entity whose aim is to raise awareness regarding Italian and foreign art thanks to interdisciplinary activities that include managing a school, organizing various exhibitions and founding a center for Contemporary Art.

The Academy hosts an important collection of works by Italian and foreign artists from a time period that goes from the end of the XIX century to today. Inaugurated in 1972 after significant restorations, the collection was reopened for public viewing on March 27, 2005. The majority of its works were donated by artists and collectors. It is continuously growing thanks to the fact that the Academy is committed to constantly organizing noteworthy exhibitions.
