The SentierElsa (Elsa Trail) is guided by the turquoise waters of the Elsa River, with wooden footbridges, small waterfalls and shaded stretches. The trail is almost flat, but each bend reveals a new view: clear water, sculpted rocks and a dense forest providing shelter from the sun.
It is a path with calming scenery that relaxes your mind: the sound of the water and the light filtering through the woods create a slow rhythm, suitable for any time of year.
The path usually starts from the Ponte di San Marziale or from the Ponte di Spugna, bridges just outside Colle Val d'Elsa, and runs along the river for four kilometers. Including the return journey, the route is a total of eight kilometers long.
The trail is easy and almost all flat: calculate two to three hours including stops along the river.

Sensory experience
Choose a spot where the river seems to be holding its breath with you. Sit back, close your eyes and let the sound of the water flow through you. Inhale deeply three times, then exhale slowly. You will feel your body loosen up and your mind will flow light like the current.

Parole d’Oro and Nottolini Aqueduct | Lucca / Vorno

On the outskirts of Lucca, the Parole d’Oro and Nottolini Aqueduct trail follows the elegant arches of a 19th-century masterpiece surrounded by greenery.
The walk starts at the little temple of Parole d’Oro (Golden Words) and crosses meadows and streams, climbing gently upwards and treating you to views of the Lucca plain.
Here, nature meets human ingenuity: stone, light and greenery come together in a perfect balance.
The circular route starts from the Parole d’Oro area, between Guamo and Vorno, and runs for about four to five kilometers with a moderate elevation gain (about 200 meters).
The route is considered easy: in less than two hours you can complete the circle, stopping and enjoying the views.

Sensory experience
Proceed slowly under the arches, as if inside a tunnel of silence and stone. Look upwards: the light draws lines between the arches and the sky. Take three deep breaths, then close your eyes for a moment. When you open them again, you will find that the air has also changed: it is clearer and more yours.

Malbacco Falls | Seravezza, Apuan Alps

At the foot of the Apuan Alps, a short trail climbs up between the marble rocks to the waterfalls and natural pools of Malbacco.
The Serra torrent flows between the white walls and creates small emerald lakes, where the sun dances on the water and the air is filled with the scent of wet stone.
It is a short but authentic route, perfect for those seeking direct contact with the most vivid and untamed nature.
The trail starts from the locality of Malbacco, above Seravezza, and reaches the main pools in about thirty minutes.
Overall, you will walk three to four kilometers there and back, with an elevation gain of about 120 -150 meters: the route is within the reach of many, but requires some attention on several steeper or more slippery sections along the torrent.

Sensory experience
Get to one of the quieter pools and take off your shoes. Dip your feet into the cold water, breathe slowly and let your body adjust to the temperature. Look at the reflection of the sun on the water and remain in silence for a few minutes. You will feel the energy rising from below, like a breath of air that refreshes and renews you.

In the green hills of Livorno, the Leopoldine Aqueduct Trail follows the arches that once brought water to the city.
It is an easy walk and full of charm: bridges, forests and clearings alternate as if you are walking through time.
When walking between the stone arches, your pace becomes steady and your breathing becomes deeper.
The route starts from the parking area at the Fociarella quarry, along the road between Colognole and Valle Benedetta, and forms a loop of about six kilometers.
You will be walking on well-marked out trails with an elevation gain of around 200-250 meters: consider about two hours for the hike, which is also suitable for those with little experience but a modicum of fitness.

Sensory Experience
Stop in the heart of the forest, where the trees form a natural tunnel. Inhale deeply through your nose and exhale slowly through your mouth. Each breath should be one second longer than the last, letting the body synchronize itself with the rhythm of the place. You will find that even the forest silently breathes with you.

Amid the spectacular forms of the Balze del Valdarno, the Acqua Zolfina Trail is a loop route that crosses springs, woods and gullies.
The terrain is easy but varied and the light of the landscape changes at every turn: chestnut trees, clays, golden hills.
It is a path that makes your breaths longer and your attention sharper, perfect for those seeking a slowness that refreshes you.
The route generally starts from Piantravigne (Municipality of Castelfranco di Sopra) and is a loop of about seven kilometers.
The elevation gain is around 200 meters and the average walking time is about two hours: an easy, well-marked out trail, suitable for those who wish to explore the Balze at a leisurely pace.

Sensory experience
Choose a panoramic place and remain in silence. Look at the silhouette of the Balze against the sky, then slowly inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Repeat ten times, imagining that you are letting go of all heavy thoughts. Let the landscape pass through you: you will feel the earth breathing within you.

Every Tuscan walk is an exercise in being present.
Walk, breathe and listen: don't just move through a landscape, but let the landscape move through you.
With its water, woods and hills, Tuscany invites you to return to what really matters: a slow, full breath of fresh air - yours.
