Where to see opera in Tuscany

Theaters, festivals and dream locations where music becomes emotion

Going to the opera in Tuscany means being immersed in a world of emotion, history and beauty.
It was in Florence, at the end of the 16ᵗʰ century, that the Camerata de’ Bardi gave life to melodrama, transforming speech into song and laying the foundations of an art destined to conquer the world.
Since then, the notes of Puccini, Verdi, Mozart and Rossini have resounded in the most evocative theaters and festivals, where music lives on immortally in the magic of these places.

Festival Puccini

Overlooking Lake Massaciuccoli, the village of Torre del Lago was the creative haven of Giacomo Puccini, who composed masterpieces such as Tosca and Madama Butterfly here. Every summer, the Festival Puccini transforms the outdoor theater into a natural stage, where music meets the reflection of the sunset and the lake becomes part of the show.

Lucca - Teatro del Giglio
