A plethora of historic buildings and palazzi, museums and hotels in Florence boast a rooftop terrace where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the city—from the distinctive red rooftops to Brunelleschi’s dome, past the many towers dotting the Florentine skyline, to the hills surrounding the cradle of the Renaissance. If you have climbed Giotto’s Bell Tower or the Dome before, you will know very well what we are talking about!
In this post, you will find some ideas for selecting your favorite terrace or you may wish to try them all out, one by one. Get set to admire Florence from above, perhaps with a glass of wine in hand at cocktail hour or over a lunch or dinner of typical Tuscan cuisine!
At Forte di Belvedere, the panoramic cafeteria of Belvedere Florence hosts cultural events in the summer, including concerts and talks. Accessible daily even after the museum is closed, it offers aperitifs with panoramic views in one of the city’s most iconic locations.

In the case of Hotel Continentale - La Terrazza, take a seat atop a medieval tower, overlooking the Arno River. Can you imagine anything more beautiful?
