Museum of Lunigiana Stele Statues

The Museum of Stele Statues is located in the Piagnaro Castle, on the top of the Monte Molinatico and overlooking the medieval town of Pontremoli

The Museum has 25 original Stele statues on display as well as 30 plaster casts of the Stele statues founded in Lunigiana, original and cast rupestrian inscriptions, different documents concerning the diffusion of Stele statues in the Lunigiana, in Italy and in Europe. An educational hall explains the phenomena of the Stele statues and another hall has a reconstruction of an excavation of a Stele statue. The collection is divided into two opening halls and six exhibition halls. The materials are divided by the type and approximate age.
