Let’s suppose you don’t know anything about the two-wheel world, here it is a brief guide with basic information you should know about the UCI Road World Championship. What it is: The UCI World Tour is the premier annual male elite road cycling tour. It refers to both the tour of 29 events and an annual ranking system based upon performances in these. The World Ranking was launched in 2009. The 2013 UCI World Tour is the fifth edition of the ranking system launched by the International Cycling Union (UCI) in 2009. Where: this year in Tuscany. To be more specific, the thirteen itineraries will pass through Florence, Lucca, Pistoia, Montecatini Terme, Fiesole. When: September 21 to 29, 2013

  Who: The winner of the UCI Road World Championships road race is considered the World Cycling Champion (or World Road Cycling Champion) and earns the right to wear the Rainbow Jersey for a full year in road race or stage events. Both men and women compete in different races. The program include these races:
  • September 22: Élite Women and Élite Men;
  • September 23:Junior Women and Under 23;
  • September 24: Junior Men and Élite Women;
  • September 25: Élite Men;
  • September 26: break;
  • September 27: Woman Junior and Under 23;
  • September 28: Junior Men and Élite Women;
  • September 29: Élite Men
