The new bike park at Santa Maria Novella train station in Florence

There is a good news for all the bike lovers travelling to Florence! On December 9, a new bike park has been opened under the Santa Maria Novella station in Florence. The entrance, by bike, is located in the middle of the new green space that frames the station; then, the pedestrian exit will lead you right inside the station, in front of the platform 11 and 12. bike-park-florence The park can host 800 bikes: the structure is divided into two floors (400 bike racks downstairs and 400 upstairs); it's free and closes from 10pm to 07am. Parking is not guarded either by staff or by cameras. bike-park-florence Around the green area of the station there are two groups of bike racks: the largest (Via Piazza Stazione) can accommodate about 150 bicycles, the second (in the upper part of the garden) about 80. We do not recommend leaving the bike at night in the outdoor park because of the theft risk. bike-park-florence You can also rent a bike in this area thanks to the rental service run by the Cooperativa Ulisse, with about 50 vehicles to rent.
