Tuscan cooking class and Niki's Tarot Garden in the afternoon
A cooking class among the flavors of Maremma and the monumental sculptures of Niki de Saint Phalle
In Maremma, cooking is learned by watching the hands of those who make it. It's a living tradition, built on hand-me-down gestures, seasonality, and flavors that speak to every corner of the region.
The village of Capalbio sits on a hill overlooking the Maremma countryside all the way to the sea, surrounded by olive groves, vineyards, and fragrant Mediterranean scrub. Its medieval walls are perfectly preserved, with narrow, quiet stone alleys opening onto small squares with panoramic views stretching all the way to the Argentario promontory.
This experience is a sensory journey through art and gastronomy: a morning dedicated to getting your hands dirty and discovering the secrets of Tuscan cuisine, followed by an afternoon immersed in the color and symbolism of the famous Tarot Garden.
A unique opportunity to experience the essence of Maremma's "little Athens," where art permeates both historic buildings and everyday conversations.

Plan
The day begins in the heart of Capalbio, here you’re welcomed into your teacher’s kitchen, who for one morning guides you through aromas and hands-on techniques. After a short introduction, aprons on, you start preparing the dishes on the menu — afterwards you'll sit down and enjoy your lunch together.
You work with local ingredients, following the seasons. Hands in the dough, learning techniques, cooking times, and the small secrets that make each dish precise and recognisable.
You’ll also create to desserts, preparing the doughs behind the most loved specialties of this land, closing the morning with the smell of tradition.
In the afternoon, the experience continues with a guided visit to the Giardino dei Tarocchi place that’s hard to describe. It simply has to be experienced.
