A park on Monte Labbro, dedicated to the protection of local fauna

The Monte Amiata Wildlife Park is located in Arcidosso, within the Monte Labbro Nature Reserve, the limestone cone immersed in the chestnut and beech woods, where nature is still uncontaminated and splendid excursions on foot, horseback or by mountain bike are possible, thanks to a network of equipped trails.

The objective of the Wildlife Park is to safeguard the local fauna. Here it is possible to spot wild animals that live in complete freedom, observing them from afar following the guided routes: deer, fallow deer, roe deer, mouflons and even the Apennine wolf.

The Park is perfect for spending a day with the family, walking along the paths surrounded by greenery, with binoculars and a camera, waiting to admire some animals in their natural environment.
Here also live domestic species, such as horses and the Amiatino Donkey, an indigenous breed that was an endangered specie.

Inside the Park, a 3-hour trekking route leads up to the summit of Monte Labbro, from which there is a magnificent view over the entire valley and where are the remains of the Giurisdavidica Tower, a cult building of the beginning of the twentieth century, erected by the followers of David Lazzaretti, who was called the prophet of Amiata.

In the Park there are also equipped pic-nic areas.
