MusArt Festival

Concerts, photography exhibitions and guided visits in the heart of Florence

The MusArt Festival has evolved into a fixture on the Florentine summer calendar. The festival takes place in July and runs for about a week. The backdrop is the evocative piazza Santissima Annunziata in Florence; for the occasion, it welcomes many different forms of art, from music to guided visits in important art destinations, to documentary film screenings and photography exhibitions.

Francesco Da Gregori, Baustelle, Roberto Bolle, Chick Corea, Jethro Tull, Ermal Meta, the Orchestras of Tuscany and the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino are just a few of the groups and individuals who have taken the stage at the MusArt Festival in past editions.

Before every performance, generally speaking, audience members have the chance to visit some gardens, worship spaces and monumental palazzos adjacent to piazza Santissima Annunziata. Photography exhibitions dedicated to the great Florentine concerts that took place during the 1980s and 1990s also take place.

Additionally, in collaboration with Sky Arte, in the Comparetti della Biblioteca Umanistica of the University of Florence in piazza Brunelleschi, there are screenings of various documentaries that tell the stories of works that shaped the history of Italian music, such as Crueza De Ma di Fabrizio De André, La voce del Padrone by Franco Battiato, Com'è profondo il mare dby Lucio Dalla, Pigro by Ivan Graziani, Far finta di essere sani by Giorgio Gaber, Radici by Francesco Guccini and Mio fratello è figlio unico by Rino Gaetano.
