A journey into the Middle Ages: art, music and history in the majestic Fortezza Nuova in Livorno
Tuscany Medieval Festival is an extraordinary event that will transport the audience on a fascinating journey to the heart of the Middle Ages in the evocative Fortezza Nuova (New Fortress) in Livorno, from May 10 to May 12.
A unique experience with the presence of reenactors and artisans from England and other parts of Europe for a festival with an international signature and an authentic celebration of medieval history and culture. Exciting rowing races around the channels of the fortress will gift even more color and participation to all visitors.
On Friday evening, a breathtaking show of light games and fireworks, accompanied by a special artistic performance on the body of water in front of the fortress. The concert by Furor Gallico will add a vibrating rhythm to Sunday evening.
On Sunday there will also be the opportunity to learn more about the Middle Ages by attending a conference dedicated to historical reenactment. Experts, representatives of Tuscany Region and university professors will deal with fascinating topics, making the experience even more engaging.
Moreover, on the occasion of the 450th anniversary of the death of Cosimo I de' Medici, an interesting in-depth analysis on his person and the world around him will be held.
