Special trekking excursion in the most beautiful season of the year
A truly sensory experience in the heart of the UNESCO landscape of the Val d'Orcia, at sunset. Pienza, the Ideal City of the Renaissance, closely tied to Pope Pius II, welcomes us with its elegant palaces overlooking the clay hills and narrow streets filled with the aroma of Pecorino DOP cheese, before we immerse ourselves in the world-famous landscapes of the region.
We will reach the area near the Chapel of the Madonna di Vitaleta to admire a stunning sunset. As daylight fades, we’ll enjoy the solitude and beauty of the early evening hours along the Terrapille trail, also known as the "Elysian Fields" from the film Gladiator. The evening light will guide us to the historic Parish Church of Corsignano, before returning to Pienza and its historic center.
In a crescendo of impressions, we will follow a stretch of the Way of St. Francis to reach Monticchiello, an authentic fortified village of Roman and medieval origin, where we’ll admire its defensive walls and the Church of Saints Leonardo and Christopher, before taking in the spectacular view of Pienza and the Val d'Orcia.
The tour will take place on Saturday, July 26, starting at 6:00 PM.

Cancellation
and no-show policies
The guide reserves the right to make changes to the hike to ensure the safety of the group, or to cancel the hike in case of bad weather and/or alertness.
The excursion will be confirmed upon reaching a minimum of 8 people and a maximum of 25 people.
