E-Bike on Neverland: private tour of Argentario
A 45 km ride on electric two-wheelers between the Orbetello Lagoon, the seaside villages of Porto Santo Stefano and Porto Ercole, and views of the Tuscan Archipelago
Did you know Neverland actually exists?
This tour takes you to “Neverland” — the most distinctive promontory on the Maremma coast: Monte Argentario, once an island, now a promontory suspended between sky and sea.
The Argentario is embraced by the tomboli (sand bars) della Giannella and Feniglia, which enclose the Orbetello Lagoon.
The route runs mainly on bike paths and paved roads, with short dirt sections.Views, gentle climbs (barely noticeable on e-bikes), and flat stretches alternate throughout.
The scent of Mediterranean scrubland and the sea breeze are constant companions. We chose e-bikes to make this ride enjoyable for everyone.
There are no technical challenges here—it’s a perfect adventure for adults and teenagers (aged 14 and up) who are comfortable with the distance.

Plan
We meet in Orbetello, where after the briefing and e-bike handover the ride begins.
For the first few kilometers you ride the bike path along the Orbetello Lagoon, amidst reflections, flamingos, and golden light.
Then on to Porto Santo Stefano, once a fishing village, now a lively port and a refined seaside destination.
From here you head onto one of Tuscany’s most striking coastal roads: a ribbon of tarmac suspended above the sea connecting Porto Santo Stefano to Porto Ercole.
Arriving at Porto Ercole before you loop back to Orbetello, you are met by a skyline of history: the formidable fortifications of Forte Stella, the Rocca, and Forte Filippo, standing guard since the Middle Ages and the era of Spanish rule.
