Palazzo Gambacorti

Pisa's Town Hall

Piazza XX Settembre

The palace overlooks the Lungarno of the same name, on the corner with the Piazza XX Settembre. It was built of dark green stone in the Pisan Gothic style on the initiative of Pietro Gambacorta, or Gambacorti. The façade is decorated with coats of arms and inscriptions, and a double tier of mullioned windows. The right flank of the building is preceded by a portico, and is connected by a footbridge to the Logge di Banchi.
