In Florence, a space for 2-wheel enthusiasts

Opened in April 2006, the Gino Bartali Cycling Museum is located in Florence at Via Chiantigiana 175, at the heart of Ponte a Ema, in front of the house where Bartali was born.
Today, it is part of the city’s heritage, as a Florentine Civic Museum.
At the behest of the champion himself, the museum traces the history of 2 wheels from the 19ᵗʰ century to the present day through the display of bikes, jerseys, trophies, books, videos and newspapers.

In the main hall, the bicycles of great champions stand out: Bartali, Nencini, Visentini, Poggiali, Bitossi, Casagrande, Nibali, Pogačar, Vingegaard and others, alongside Bartali’s jersey at the 1952 Milan–San Remo, Coppi’s world champion jersey and trophies from Gino Bartali’s Grand Tours, such as that of 1948.

In the room dedicated to Marco Paoletti are the library and bicycles used by those in various trades, such as those of the firefighters, barber, cobbler, mail carrier and knife grinder.

Finally, in the Gastone Nencini room, there is a space dedicated to video projection with a vast archive of historical films.
