For two weekends, San Giovanni d’Asso hosts the Mostra Mercato del Tartufo Bianco delle Crete Senesi, one of Tuscany’s most important events dedicated to the prized White Truffle.
Now in its 40th edition, the event will take place on November 7-8 and 14-15. Established in 1985, the event celebrates the white truffle, along with the culinary excellence of the Crete Senesi and Val d’Orcia areas, offering visitors a chance to enjoy the flavors and traditions of this corner of Tuscany during the truffle harvesting season.
In the village, which is part of the Municipality of Montalcino, visitors will be able to learn about and purchase truffles and other local products, participate in tastings and informative sessions and discover the world of hunting and harvesting of this highly prized product of the land. The program also features events dedicated to local culture and traditions, as well as opportunities to visit and experience the historic center of San Giovanni d’Asso.
The 40th edition marks an important milestone for an event that has been promoting the region and its food and wine heritage for four decades, attracting enthusiasts and visitors to explore the Montalcino area.
