Sagra del Porcino

From October 2 to October 4 in the hamlet of Casal di Pari in the municipality of Civitella Paganico in the province of Grosseto, the Sagra del Porcino takes place, a gastronomic event celebrating the king of the woods, porcini mushrooms. 
Porcini mushrooms grow right in the woods adjacent to the Casal di Pari countryside. Over the years, the local population has managed to exalt this product by making it the star of many traditional dishes and, since 1975, of this traditional sagra (or, food fair). 

Be sure to try the fried mushrooms, a unique gastronomic experience and symbol of local cuisine.
