A few kilometres from Pisa is Tirrenia, an elegant seaside town immersed in a vast Mediterranean pine forest. Known for its wide and equipped sandy beaches, it’s dotted with hotels and entertainment centres that are perfectly integrated into the distinctive setting.
The main attraction in Tirrenia is the wide sandy shoreline, characterized by both classic seaside resorts and stretches of open beaches, where you can enjoy the clear, blue waters.
There are many sports that guests can play either on the beach or in the green shade of the pine forest, not to mention out on the water, like sailing and spearfishing, to name just two. Sports lovers in general can choose between beach volleyball, tennis, football and golf, as well as horse riding.
In Tirrenia’s Mediterranean pine forest, you can relax with a calming stroll or bike ride, or even visit the Tirrenia Dune Oasis, a protected area managed by the WWF in Pisa, home to a unique flora and fauna and one of the last dune environments in Italy; many of the plants and animals here are protected.
Tirrenia also boasts plenty of places to let loose in the evening, like clubs and restaurants, which even offer events organized by the resorts directly on the beach. The proximity to the “Galileo Galilei” Airport, the port in Livorno and the access to the highway make Tirrenia particularly easy to reach.
