Truffle hunting in Chianti with lunch & wine tasting
A truffle hunter and his dog guide you through the woods of Chianti; after the hunt, enjoy lunch at a farm and a tasting of local wines
Your day begins at 8:30 AM, when a private driver picks you up from your hotel or apartment and takes you through the breathtaking Tuscan countryside, full of vineyards and olive trees, to meet your expert truffle hunter.
Before the hunt, enjoy a brief introduction about the different types of truffles, the rules of truffle hunting and how the truffle dogs are trained to detect these hidden treasures. Then the adventure begins: enter the forest and take part in the hunt yourself, guided by the truffle hunter and his specially trained dog.
After the hunt, move to a charming farm for a three-course truffle lunch: truffle appetizer, classic tagliolini with truffle and truffle tiramisu. All courses are paired with Tuscan wines, including Chianti Classico, Vernaccia and Super Tuscan, with a brief explanation of their characteristics.
Extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar tastings are also included.
Return around 3:00 PM.
Please wear comfortable trekking clothes and shoes and bring a rain jacket. Private tour, available in English, Italian, French and Spanish.
