The San Felice Oasis, affiliated with WWF, is a coastal area of around 50 hectares in Marina di Grosseto. Established to protect a valuable part of the Italian coastline, it is a precious and fragile ecosystem sandwiched between the sea and the Diaccia Botrona Regional Reserve. It is designated a Site of Importance to the Community and a Zone of Special Protection within the Natura 2000 network (EEC Directive 92/43). It still contains a historic pine forest planted to counter the spread of malaria, as well as interesting Mediterranean vegetation and dune plant and animal life.

The Fiumara is an area of water full of fish and aquatic birds, complete with a cycle path and circular nature trail with information panels along the way, as well as two ‘Green Classrooms’ dedicated to coastal pine forests and the biosphere.
