La Fabbrica della Natura, in the Monti Rognosi Nature Reserve

La Fabbrica della Natura (the Nature Factory) is the Visitor Center of the Monti Rognosi Reserve, which extends into the municipality of Anghiari. It serves as a center for learning about natural history and gaining knowledge of biodiversity and environmental issues. The Visitor Center integrates with the Reserve’s hospitality facilities and makes it possible to organize environmental education activities aimed at all types of audiences, from individuals to organized groups and from children to adults, contributing to the development of tourism in the valley. 

On the second floor, there is a reception space, with a bookshop, a multimedia room and a section dedicated to archaeology, and a section of thematic itineraries that can be followed using the Reserve’s network of trails. 

The second floor presents a marvelous sensory journey: the first section is dedicated to geology, with interactive apparatus illustrating the formation and characteristics of the Monti Rognosi mountains. Worthy of note is the collection of minerals and rocks from all over the world. 

A conference room introduces visitors to the botany of ophiolites, illustrating the scholars who first devoted their time to the Reserve's vegetation and their theories. 

In the next room, educational panels and herbariums demonstrate the vegetation with some focus on the most significant species; this is followed by the wildlife section, shown through models and multimedia apparatus suitable for a younger audience.
