Hesperidarium Garden of Citrus

in Castellare di Pescia there's a botanical garden that collects over 200 varieties of citrus

Via del Tiro a Segno, 61, 51017 Pescia PT, Italia

The Garden of Citrus Hesperidarium in Castellare di Pescia (Pistoia) is a unique botanical garden that collects over 200 varieties of ornamental citrus from all over the world: from the sixteenth-century Mediterranean varieties cultivated for the Medici, to the new productions from the Southern Hemisphere.

It offers a delightful pathway with plant tunnels, fountains and great figures inspired by the famous “Pinocchio” fairy tale. It is also suitable for a winter walk because is covered by a large 2,000 square meter greenhouse.

The Garden, so special and accessible to everyone, is just two kilometers from the Collodi park dedicated to Pinocchio.

The shapes and colors of this beautiful garden are the result of the work, passion and research of the Tintori family, growers for generations and now producers of ornamental citrus exported all over the world.

Visitors are guided by a group of experts and will be offered some citrus jams to taste. You will also be able to have lunch among the citrus scents and colors or visit the production spaces and the market in the Oscar Tintori greenhouse, next to the garden.
