MAREMMA 1851
Holiday homes
in Follonica
"Maremma 1851" is the name given to this holiday home, set in a historic family farmhouse dedicated to Saint Joseph in honour of one of the Bicocchi brothers, who arrived that year from Pomarance to Maremma to complete the work of the first settlers of the Leopoldine land reclamation, giving rise to the Tenuta Numerouno estate.
From this story of land and family comes today's boutique house of four holiday apartments, run with warmth and personal care by its owners, where Tuscan charm meets contemporary comfort and sustainability. Each apartment has its own character and takes its name from an island of the Tuscan Archipelago: Montecristo (up to 6 adults, three double bedrooms, three bathrooms), Capraia (up to 4 adults, two double bedrooms, two bathrooms), Giglio (up to 7 adults, two double bedrooms and one triple room with a mezzanine, two bathrooms), and Elba (up to 6 adults, three double bedrooms, three bathrooms). All rooms are air-conditioned, and WiFi is available both indoors and in the outdoor areas.
Each apartment has two private parking spaces, one of them covered by a characteristic wooden carport with woven cane roofing, fitted with an EV charging point. The property, renovated in 2023-2024 to the highest energy efficiency standard, generates its own power and hot water through solar panels.
From the apartments, the view stretches across the Gulf of Follonica, from Punta Ala to Piombino, as far as the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago and, on clear days, the outline of Corsica on the horizon. The centre of Follonica and its beaches are just a 12-15 minute walk away, or under 5 minutes by car, making it the perfect place to combine the peace of the Tuscan countryside with the convenience of the seaside. The quality of the hospitality is confirmed by guest reviews and by the Booking.com Traveller Award: 10/10 in 2024 and 9.8/10 in 2025.
