From Vagliagli to Radda in Chianti: a variant to the Eroica route

The Eroica is one of the most beloved events for those who are passionate about cycling. This easy itinerary is a variation on the route that connects Castellina in Chianti with Vagliagli and Radda in Chianti.

Our suggested itinerary starts from the village of Vagliagli then proceeds to Castellina in Chianti. Here, we recommend stopping to admire the historic center and to stroll along the Via delle Volte, an ancient walkway designed by Filippo Brunelleschi. Archaeology lovers should not miss visiting to the Archaeological Museum in the Siena Chianti.

Back in the saddle, continue on to Radda in Chianti, a delightful village and the heart of Chianti Classico. Take a detour up to the village and enjoy a restorative stop.

For the return trip, follow the official route of the Eroica that will take you along dirt roads back to the village of Vagliagli.
