Massaciuccoli Lake

Massaciuccoli Lake is located into the Natural Park of Migliarino San Rossore Massaciuccoli, a protected area curated by the WWF and the LIPU. It is known for being one of composer Giacomo Puccini’s best-loved spots and for its Lipu Oasis of Massaciuccoli where you can closely observe flora such as the marsh orchids, the pink hibiscus and ferns and fauna such as ducks, cormorants, coots, herons and reed warblers. To immerse yourselves in the nature of the park you can book guided tours or do birdwatching by yourselves. In fact, Massaciuccoli Lake is also an important station for many migratory bird species that find refuge in the area’s small channels located between the reeds. On the banks, you’ll find several huts for bird watching. Enjoy some photos of this natural paradise and start thinking about a day trip to Massaciuccoli Lake!
