Paper, light and movement: an immersive experience by artist Gianni Pettena

From June 11 to September 16, the Manifattura Tabacchi in Florence is hosting Paper/Cosmic Breeze, an installation by architect and artist Gianni Pettena, a leading figure in contemporary experimentation in architecture and design.

First created in 1971 in the United States, the artwork is being recreated in Pavilion B3, one of the spaces that still preserve traces of the complex’s industrial past.

The installation consists of long strips of paper hanging from the ceiling, which completely fill the room and transform the space into a weightless, ever-changing forest
The public is invited to cross it by cutting their own path with scissors, thereby becoming an active part of the artwork.

This is an immersive experience made up of paper, light and movement, in which the spectator does not merely observe, but participates in the creative process.

Admission is free.
