The historic antiques event is Italy’s longest-running of its kind

Since 1963, each year between the end of August and the beginning of September, Cortona hosts Cortonantiquaria, the longest-running Italian event dedicated to the world of antiques. It is a benchmark for all lovers of art collecting.
The exhibition allows visitors to go on a dreamlike journey back in time, enjoying vintage and antiques shopping and also bringing great value to the Italian antiques market, with paintings from the 17th and 18th centuries, centuries-old silver pieces, French-influenced furniture, sculptures, jewelry, objects in wrought iron and still other items.

This is a must-attend event for all who are passionate about antiques, but it also pulls in all curious types and visitors who want to discover Cortona.

The program also includes a series of side events.

The 2026 edition will take place from August 29 to September 13. The most valuable items on display will include a rare Heriz-Serapi rug from the second half of the 19th century, an early 20th-century collection of wax fruit and flowers, an 18th-century Genoese processional mannequin and a large 17th-century sacristy cabinet, along with many other rare pieces.
