Images from the Archivio Foto Locchi for an exhibition capturing memory and identity

From May 7 to October 18, Villa Bardini hosts Firenze ’50, ’60, ’70, the photographic exhibition dedicated to the city and its transformations through 150 snapshots from the Archivio Foto Locchi.

The exhibition not only recounts news-worthy events but restores the atmospheres, faces and changes of Florence and the Florentines in 3 crucial decades: from the optimism of the 1950s, the drama of the 1966 flood to the protests of the 1970s.

The itinerary is divided into 10 thematic sections and interweaves great history with the daily life of the city—the famous people who have passed through Florence, the enterprises of the Fiorentina football team, the social and political transformations and the 1ˢᵗ inklings of Made in Italy.

An exhibition that holds up a mirror to the city, able to narrate its memory, identity and change through the power of images.
