Tuscan Maremma GranDe tour
A cycling journey into the authentic heart of the Tuscan Maremma
783 kilometers. 15 days. An entire province to cross by bike.
The Tuscan Maremma Grand Detour is a cycling loop that covers the province of Grosseto from end to end: from the coast to the Colline Metallifere (Metalliferous Hills), from Mount Amiata to the tufa cliffs of Pitigliano, all the way to the Argentario promontory and Giglio Island. Every day, the landscape transforms completely — and with it the scents, the colours, the texture of the ground under your wheels.
This tour is ideal for gravel or trekking bikes, pedal-assisted or traditional, since the route follows low-traffic secondary roads and some white gravel roads: no highways, no chaos. A smooth ride in direct contact with the land, combining sport, culture, and landscape without any of the three overpowering the others.
This isn't the Tuscany you'd expect, this is a New Tuscany and that's exactly the point.
