A food and wine getaway in the Sienese Valdichiana, featuring visits to wineries, cheese dairies, olive oil mills, and traditional restaurants
A three-day journey through the heart of the Valdichiana Senese in southern Tuscany, among historic towns, landscapes, wineries and farms, discovering the area through four of its most representative products: Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG, Pecorino di Pienza, Tuscan PGI Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Chianina PGI beef.
The itinerary follows the Strada del Vino Nobile di Montepulciano e dei Sapori della Valdichiana Senese, combining visits to historic town centres with encounters with the producers and businesses that preserve and share the area’s traditions every day.
This package stems from the first-hand knowledge that the Valdichiana Living team has of the area and its businesses, carefully selected through long-standing relationships with wineries, cheese dairies and farms. These are not simply visits, but opportunities to enjoy experiences that reveal not only the flavours of the region, but also the people, landscapes and history of the Valdichiana Senese.

- 2 nights in a selected farmhouse or hotel, including breakfast
- Guided tour of the hamlet of Montepulciano and of the underground cellars with tasting of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG and extra virgin olive oil
- Visit to a local cheese dairy
- Tasting of Pecorino di Pienza at different stages of maturation
- Experience at an olive farm or olive mill
- Guided tasting of Tuscan PGI extra virgin olive oil
- Visit to a Chianina cattle farm
- Lunch at the farm with Chianina meat tasting menu
- Private transfers can be arranged upon request and quoted separately. Transfers are available in an electric ID. Buzz minivan for up to four passengers or, for larger groups, in other types of vehicles

Plan
Day 1 - Montepulciano and Vino Nobile
Arrival in the Valdichiana Senese and check-in at a selected farmhouse or hotel. Guided tour of Montepulciano’s historic centre, followed by a visit to its underground wine cellars and a tasting of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG. Free time and dinner in the historic centre.
Day 2 - Pecorino di Pienza, landscapes and Tuscan olive oil
Visit a local dairy to discover how Pecorino di Pienza is made, followed by a tasting. Free time to explore Pienza and admire the Val d’Orcia. In the afternoon, visit an olive farm or mill and enjoy a guided tasting of Tuscan PGI extra virgin olive oil. Return and free evening.
Day 3 - Chianina cattle and Valdichiana traditions
After breakfast and check-out, visit a Chianina cattle farm to discover this historic breed, its connection with the Valdichiana and local farming traditions. Farm lunch featuring Chianina IGP beef, followed by departure.

- Cancellations received less than seven days but more than 48 hours before arrival: 50% refund of the amount paid.
