E-bike tour to discover the village of Calci and surroundings
A unique experience that combines curiosity, tradition and culture not far from the city of Pisa
A unique experience that combines the beauty of nature, historical richness and tradition, all effortlessly thanks to pedal assistance. We will depart from Pisa and cross breathtaking landscapes, immersing ourselves in local history and traditions. During the tour, you'll visit some of the most fascinating and evocative places in the area: we begin our journey with a stop at the imposing Medici Aqueduct, an engineering masterpiece signed by the Grand Dukes of Tuscany. We will walk under its arches and admire the panoramic view of the surrounding hills.
Our tour will continue to the Certosa di Calci, a fascinating monastery nestled in the Pisan mountains, where history and spirituality meet. The tranquillity of this place will envelop you as we discover its roots and traditions. (There is no internal visit to this place.) Afterwards, we will admire the Torretta di Caprona, a medieval tower that towers over the Tuscan landscape, perched on a rocky spur. We will continue towards the Pieve di Santa Giulia, a Romanesque church that tells ancient stories of faith and art. Its tranquillity and rural charm will make you feel like you've gone back in time.
In the town of Calci, you can have a moment of refreshment in the famous artisanal pastry shop “Andreoni”, where you can taste excellent sweets or sandwiches, or choose something to drink such as: excellent coffee, a cappuccino, fruit juices, soft drinks, etc. The cost of consumption will be kindly offered by us to all tour participants!
