Starting from Asciano, the tour offers a spectacular view of the Crete Senesi landscape. The itinerary includes a segment of the famous Eroica bike race, a wonderful way to immerse yourself in the breathtaking scenery of Tuscany. Crete Senesi is a stunning area characterized by rolling hills, isolated farmhouses, and treeless terrain, creating a unique and captivating view. The name Crete in Italian translates literally to “clay hills,” and the area is named for its distinctive clay-rich soil that has eroded over centuries, resulting in a stunning landscape of soft, undulating slopes that range in colour from beige to burnt sienna. We will also stop in front of the Leonina castle, which dates back to the 1200s. The castle has been restored over the years and now offers luxurious accommodations.
