This circular e-bike tour starts in Volterra and offers one of the most “authentic” rides in the area: rolling hills, dirt roads, isolated farmhouses, and unbroken views of the ridgelines. It’s a scenic and atmospheric route, perfect for those who want to immerse themselves in rural Tuscany away from traffic, with a mix of surfaces (quiet asphalt and smooth dirt roads) and a rolling terrain that’s a pleasure to ride on an e-bike.
After the first few kilometers, you enter the open landscape around Volterra, where the view stretches toward Monte Voltraio and the countryside changes color with the seasons.
One of the tour’s highlights is the stretch near Villa Palagione and, shortly after, the arrival at the village of Pignano: a picturesque stop, ideal for a break and some photos, surrounded by hills and postcard-perfect dirt roads.
The tour continues toward Ulignano through a more expansive and sun-drenched countryside, with smooth descents and elevated stretches offering ever-changing views of the valley.
A brief stop outside the Villa di Ulignano wraps up the “historic” part of the route before heading back toward Volterra, with the final climb closing the loop and bringing you back to the starting point.

and no-show policies
Free cancellation: you can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the tour start time.
Late cancellations: for cancellations made within 24 hours of the tour start time, or in case of no-show, no refund will be issued.
Date changes: date changes are not possible. If needed, you must cancel according to the terms above and make a new booking (subject to availability and current prices).
Extras: bookings for extras (bike and accessory rental, tastings, light lunch, other services) follow the same rules as the tour: full refund up to 24 hours before; within 24 hours of the start time or in case of no-show, the full amount is forfeited.
Weather and trail conditions: in case of bad weather or unsafe conditions (alerts, closures, restrictions), the tour may be cancelled for safety reasons. In these cases, a refund will be issued according to the rules above; any services already started/provided are non-refundable.
How to cancel: cancellation must be requested via the channel indicated in the booking confirmation (email/WhatsApp/phone). The time the request is received is the one that counts.
