The most important Buddhist center in Europe is found in the Pisan hills

The Lama Tzong Khapa Institute is located in Pomaia, a small town in the municipality of Santa Luce, surrounded by the splendid panorama of the Pisan hills and which today is the most important Buddhist center in Europe. The monastery in Pomaia, around 40 km south of Pisa, is a dear place not only to the Dalai Lama, but also to the famous masters and meditators that visit the site regularly.

Here, in a building completely immersed in nature, guests can get to know Buddhist philosophy up close and participate in courses in philosophy, psychology and mediation. The spiritual program at the Lama Tzong Khapa Institute also includes some collective meditation rituals on certain days of the Tibetan calendar. This is a must-visit place to discover an oft-unknown but nonetheless interesting and captivating corner of Tuscany.
