One of the biggest Christmas markets in Italy

The "Christmas in Montepulciano" event, now in its 10th edition, features one of the biggest Christmas markets in Italy, with more than 65 wooden houses, covered food area and plenty of family attractions, starting with Santa Claus' Castle set up in the Fortress. In addition to the big Christmas tree in Piazza Grande, this edition also has a number of new features, events and surprises in store.

The market takes place in the upper part of the city, between Piazza Grande and Via San Donato, and hosts exhibitors from all over Italy. In the Fortress, visitors can discover where Santa Claus lives together with his elves, children can visit the magic kitchen, the winter garden, ride the sleigh, until the magical meeting with "the master of the house".

In the small square of Vicolo del Leone (next to the Municipal Palace), the "Christmas Terrace" will be set up, a space created in collaboration with the Consorzio del Vino Nobile, where you can sip wine and enjoy tasty local delicacies in front of a breathtaking view.

  • Market: November 18 - 19; 25 - 26; December 2 - 3; 7 -  10; 16 - 17 and from December 22 to January 7, 2024 everyday from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (December 25 afternoon opening)
  • Santa Claus' Castle: November 18 - 19 and 25 - 26 and December 2 - 3, 7 - 10, 16 - 17, 22 - 24 and 26 (10:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.); from December 27 to January 7, 2024 everyday from 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. (January 6, 10:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.)
  • Bus shuttle: active service on November 18 - 19 and 25 - 26, December 2 - 3, 7 - 10, 16 - 17, and 26, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m., approximately every 30′. Stop at the Bus Station (Piazzale Nenni) and closest stop to the upper part of the Historical Center at Porta delle Farine, with intermediate stops.
