Tuscany: at the origins of the Etruscan civilization
Four days between Montepulciano, Chianciano Terme, Chiusi, Sarteano, San Casciano dei Bagni and Cortona
A journey through the history of the oldest civilisation that inhabited Tuscany and central Italy, starting from the 7th century BC.
You will visit archaeological museums, thermal springs and charming villages, following the thread of the invaluable legacy left by the Etruscans in the Valdichiana.
Over the four days, you will travel through some of the most fascinating villages of southern Tuscany, along an itinerary that will lead you to discover Etruscan civilisation: from their culture of wellbeing to their ingenuity, and their relationship with life and death.
The route will take you to iconic places such as Chianciano Terme, with its Etruscan museum and thermal waters, Sarteano and Chiusi, home to necropolises and evocative underground sites, and San Casciano dei Bagni, the setting of one of the most important recent archaeological discoveries. The journey also includes stops in Montepulciano and Cortona, where museums and unique artefacts tell the story of this extraordinary civilisation.
