E-bike tour between wine and olive oil at Lake Massaciuccoli

An e-biking tour for real gourmets! Get to visit a winery and an oil mill and taste plenty of delicacies while riding your e-bike. This activity begins right at the premises of Montepisano in San Giuliano Terme, where you will meet your private guide and receive your e-bikes and helmets. The guide will give you a good introduction to the whole day while you practice using the bikes before departure.

The first part of the tour will feel like jumping into the Middle Ages. You will visit a picturesque fortified village, right between Pisa and Lucca, originated from a castle dating back to the time when the two towns were at war. You will enjoy a nice ride through its little alleys and have many opportunities to take lovely pictures.

Continuing along the route, you will admire some stunning views of Lake Massaciuccoli, one of the biggest coastal lakes in Italy. This lake is famous for its rich vegetation and for large populations of birds that normally dwell here, which has made it a major destination for birdwatching. You will have the chance to stroll on some walkways right over the water and learn a lot about the natural features of the place.

Right next to the lake is one of the most original wineries in Tuscany. You will visit the production areas and learn about their visionary project of creating sparkling wines in an area of sand dunes and beaches. After visiting the premises, you will enjoy a great wine tasting session with four wines of their production, accompanied by delicious local snacks.

The second part of the day is dedicated to extra virgin olive oil. You will visit the most advanced oil mill in the region, just a few kilometres away from Lake Massaciuccoli. Your guide will tell you about the techniques for extracting oil from perfectly mature olives and you will finally understand the meaning of the expression “extra virgin olive oil”. The producers of olive oil here are award winners for their innovation and research in producing high-quality products. You will taste some olive oils and other delicacies on sale there.

After the visit to the oil mill, you will return to the starting point of the tour. Your guide will make sure that you are always comfortable and safe during the whole tour.
