Selva del Buffardello Adventure Park
Sport and outdoor fun for the whole family
Inside the “Selva del Buffardello” Adventure Park, in the heart of the Garfagnana, visitors can take part in various activities, spending a day immersed in nature, in the name of sport, enjoyment and life outdoors.
The Park is located in the municipality of San Romano in Garfagnana, near to the Orecchiella Park and a short distance from the Verrucole Fortress.
Acrobatics courses, excursions, trail running, E-MTB and learning activities are just some of the Park's proposals.
There are also numerous services to spend a pleasant day: a cafeteria, picnic areas equipped with barbecue, toilets, a nursery, a playground and plenty of green space to enjoy some free time.
Trails
There are ten courses in the park: three for children taller than one meter and seven for teens and adults over 140cm.
The courses include a network of boardwalks and suspended bridges at different heights from the ground, balancing games and trapdoors, obstacles to clamber over, Tarzan jumps and zipwires up to 15 meters from the ground!
To guarantee complete safety, all users will be given tested equipment, including a helmet and a harness, and will participate in an informative "briefing" with a qualified instructor. Only after a few tests, the access to the routes will be granted, whereupon you will be constantly monitored by the park’s operators.
Outdoor activities
The “Selva Buffardello” Adventure Park, thanks to its highly qualified and expert staff and the collaboration with external professionals, offers all its guests the opportunity to take part in various outdoor sporting activities, like excursions, hiking, trail running, different trails with specialized guides. Nature-related activities include hiking among the lit chestnut drying racks in autumn, snowshoeing during the winter season and beautiful walks to observe the enchanting spring and summer blooms.
For lovers of challenging expeditions, itineraries for expert excursionists that reach the highest peaks in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines or Apuan Alps are also offered. Furthermore, it is possible to organize trips by bicycle, even for families with small children, thanks to the E-MTB.
Learning in nature
The Park is ideal for activities with schools of all kinds and levels. Through direct experiences, the children will come into contact with different ways to address subjects like history, geography, science and physical educations.
Between guided tours, workshops and games in nature, the topics covered range from the origins of the human species (present among our mountains since prehistoric times), to the morphology of the territory in which we live and how it has evolved over the various centuries. Each context, therefore, is addressed in order to familiarize students with their surroundings.
Finally, the "on the trees" activities : an excellent way to introduces young children, in all safety, to mountain sports, that not only stimulate the psychophysical capacity of each student but also their ability to collaborate in groups.
