In Palazzuolo sul Senio, 800 objects tell the story of the life and work of the local population.

The Museum of the Mountain Folk "Antonio Poli" is located in Palazzuolo sul Senio, inside the ancient Palazzo dei Capitani, and is a collection of objects that reconstructs the life and work of the local population. Put together over thirty years, starting in the 1970s, the material was collected by volunteers led by Antonio Poli, to whom the museum is, in fact, dedicated.

The museum is divided into eight rooms, in which are exhibited about 800 objects that tell the story of this mountain community on the border between Tuscany and Emilia Romagna, of which the smallest and perhaps most original is a denture of hard aluminium built in the thirties by a craftsman for his own use, while the largest is a water mill with two grinding posts that occupies an entire room on the ground floor. In the other room, on the same floor, there is a space entirely dedicated to agriculture, agricultural equipment and everything related to the management of wheat.

The objects on display, dating back to the first half of the 20th century, allow visitors to enter the daily life of the community of Palazzuolo sul Senio, retracing the history of a rural world that no longer exists. Starting in the 1950s, in fact, there was a progressive depopulation that affected the mountain in favor of the city.
