Ildebrando Imberciadori – Museum of local history

Discovering Montepescali, an ancient medieval village in the heart of the Maremma

Grosseto
This museum was established thanks to the city’s Separate Administrative Council for the Use of Civic Property. Their intent was to make the history, traditions and customs of Montepescali available to future generations. Montepescali has been a free Municipality since as far back as 1147. The museum is located in the headquarters of the Separate Administrative Council for the Use of Civic Property, which includes four exhibition rooms that showcase interesting documents from ancient and medieval times as well as more modern and contemporary documentation. In the museum, visitors will also enjoy viewing ancient artifacts, old-time clocks, a guillotine and various tools which were once indispensable to country-style living.
