In Florence, the company’s own museum preserves the designer’s iconic footwear

In the heart of Florence, within the historic Palazzo Spini Feroni, is the Ferragamo Museum, an exhibition space dedicated to the history of the famous shoemaker and the brand that bears his name.

Founded in 1995, the museum was created with the aim of chronicling the evolution of the company and its influence in the fashion world, celebrating footwear as an authentic work of art.

The exhibition itinerary is enriched with temporary exhibitions that, starting with episodes from the founder’s life or significant moments in the company’s history, explore contemporary artistic and social issues. Art, design, entertainment, costume and communication thus become keys to understanding the evolution of style and way of life.

Until May 2026, the museum is hosting the exhibition “Salvatore Ferragamo 1898–1960,” dedicated to the figure of founder Salvatore Ferragamo and his contribution to Italian and international fashion. Among the most famous models on display are the Rainbow, created in 1938 for Judy Garland, Audrey Hepburn’s ballet shoes and the stiletto-heeled pumps that belonged to Marilyn Monroe–creations that helped make Ferragamo the “shoemaker to the stars.”
