Montepescali, known as the “Terrace over the Maremma,” stands at an elevation of 728 feet or 222 meters on the hills that originally bordered the shores of the ancient Lake Prile, a saltwater body of water in Etruria, located in what is now the Maremma, in the territory of Grosseto. The town owes its name to the activity that was its main source of livelihood: pesca (fishing). Today, its elevated location offers an exceptional view that stretches from the plain to the sea.
Be captivated by the quaint alleys leading to picturesque little squares adorned with skillfully tended flowers and plants.
