Volterragusto

In the fall, the streets and squares of Volterra host Volterragusto, a gastronomic event dedicated to local excellence, with a rich program of events.

In addition, Volterragusto coincides with the Exhibition Market of white truffles and typical products of the Upper Val di Cecina, symbolic product of this area, and includes in its program the traditional Palio dei Caci.

This historic event, a gathering point for families and fans of good food, features the participation of many small artisans of taste – cheeses, cured meats, chocolate, wines and more - for a mouth-watering journey in the discovery of the flavors of the area and beyond. The exhibition and food-tasting stands are set up in some of Volterra's iconic places: Piazza dei Priori and the Logge di Palazzo Pretorio, la Saletta at Via Turazza, the Cantine di Palazzo Viti and the Chiostro della Pinacoteca.

The program includes historical parades and flag-waving performances, guided tours, food tastings, workshops, "out of doors" explorations, art exhibitions set up in various places around the city, and much more.
