Freedom, contact with nature and emotions: this is Tuscany on horseback. Venture into authentic dream-like scenarios and forget the chaos and monotony of everyday life: in spring you can follow the network of horse trails and participate in numerous events dedicated to this sport.

This year Terre di Siena, the perfect place for equestrian tourism, and in particular the Chianti area in Siena, was chosen for the second edition of the Interregional Gathering of the Amazon and Country Line Dance, two events turned to riding and coloured in pink.

May 7 and 8 in Gaiole in Chianti there will be two days of non-stop meetings aimed at women and those who love the equestrian world, the sign of slow tourism and the outdoors. The splendid surroundings of Gaiole an ideal setting: the Tuscan town, reported by the U.S. magazine “Forbes” in 2008 as the top town where Americans want to live, is located on rolling hills, oak woods, islands vineyards and olive groves and white dirt roads that are well suited for trekking and hiking of all kinds.

The Amazon Meeting offers two intensive days with a wide range of events that engage participants; on-the-spot registration is available. Activities include trekking through the forests and castles of Chianti, on horseback, but also on foot or by bike. Near Gaiole, you can discover the medieval villages and castles that tell the story of fascinating places, such as the Montegrossi Castle and the Coltibuono Abbey, the Brolio Castle and the Cacchiano Castle, and also the fortified walls of Meleto and Castagnoli.

Also on the agenda, are baptisms of saddles for beginners, horse shows and other equestrian events. There will also be initiatives for carers and for those who love the outdoors and dynamic activities, including demonstrations of many sports such as canoeing, bowling, fishing and archery, made by crews in “pink.”

For those who love country-style line dancing, there will be a  traditional dance training in western stayle on May 7, in a large dance floor set up for the occasion, with the most famous DJs in the industry, from afternoon until late at night, where the biggest Country Line Dance in Tuscany will take place. Do not miss the opportunity to attend a themed show, and Sunday, May 8, to participate in a multi-stage (not only for beginners) country line dancing with instructors at the national level.

Another part of the event will include exhibitions and tastings of local food products, focusing on the most authentic  aspects and the deep bond with the land. Do not miss the opportunity to taste Tuscany's most famous red wine: Chianti Classico DOCG, and discover the cellars where we produce this delicious nectar, along the Taste Trails of the Chianti Classico wine and oil.

The Program ― Beginning on Saturday May 7 at the Brolio Castel, starting point for horse trekking and the location of the round table “Discover the area with tourism on horseback.” Then visit the Castle and in the afternoon, the horse show. During the day, ample space for events sponsored by other sports in the morning will be the turn of the Dragon Lady and the try a canoe with the dragon, with the cooperation of the instructors of the Florence Municipal Rowing, in the afternoon space for archery and bowls will be provide with FitArco Tuscany and FIB Tuscany. At 16:00 horse show is scheduled by the Amazons of FitreTrec Ante Tuscany. In evening will be the taste of the great star, with dinner in the historic and prestigious location of the former Ricasoli Cantine, a tribute to local products and short chain, with a view to enhancing the excellence of Chianti. There will be entertainment, with performances by the largest in Tuscany Country Line Dance, the traditional dance training in western style and the most famous DJs in the industry.

Sunday May 8 will include trekking on horseback following the route of the castles, the picturesque scenery of the Terre di Siena and the magical charm of the Castles of Meleto, San Donato in Perano and the Abbey of Badia in Coltibuono. Walks and bike rides, followed by federal guides, will be organized. There will even be room dedicated to fishing for women, through a collaboration with the FIPSAS Tuscany. Always in the morning, there will be country shows with DJs and national dance instructors, with the unity to participate in a training level “beginner,” “intermediate,” “advanced” and two step.
