#invasionidigitali, the invaders are back!

Are you ready for the new edition of #invasionidigitali – co-creation of cultural value? From April 24 to May 3, 2015, this network of self-organized events will flood through the entire country, to disseminate and enhance Italy’s artistic and cultural heritage through the use of the Internet and social media. invasioni digitali 2015 The #invasionidigitali are a great opportunity to visit the most beautiful and lesser-known cultural sites of Italy, to promote the artistic and cultural excellences of each territory and to build a collaboration between citizens and institutions. Tuscany, of course, could not be spared from this invasion! FLORENCE April 24, 11am Convent of Santa Maria all’Incontro, Bagno a Ripoli A guided tour of the convent and a picnic in the gardens. At the end of the invasion, a small tasting of typical products from the Sanctuary of La Verna. April 25, 11am Convent of San Francesco and Missionary Ethnological Museum, Fiesole Special opening of the monastery and guided tour of the Ethnological Missionary Museum and the crypt. At the end of the invasion, a small tasting of typical products from the Sanctuary of La Verna. April 25, 9am Invasion of Bagno a Ripoli Full exploration of the historical and artistic heritage of the town. May 2, 11am The monumental trees of the Giardino dei Semplici, Florence A visit to the oldest botanical garden in Florence to meet the “patriarchs”, the oldest trees. Free entrance to the garden from 10.30am till 1.30pm. GROSSETO April 24, 9.30am The Old Mill of Steccaia or “Mulinaccio dell’Arcidosso” The Molino of Steccaia, also called Mulinaccio, is a medieval water mill recently restored thanks to the work of volunteers. April 25, 10am The Bicycle Museum, Manciano At the Farmhouse Millefiori, there is a museum dedicated to the bicycle, with models of various periods. April 27, 10am #invadiamoilmuseomanzi The Archaeological Museum Alberto Manzi, in Pitigliano, is a park where you’ll learn everything about the Etruscans, their traditions and customs. April 27, 10am Città di Cosa - the first colony on the sea It was the first colony founded by Rome. April 29, 10am #invadiamosorano An invasion of the beautiful village of Sorano, in the Tuscan Maremma. April 30, 5pm Waiting for “the Night of Narrated Labour” in Follonica An invasion of the places that will be featured in an event called “the Night of Narrated Labour” (April 30-May 1): the MAGMA - Museum of Cast Iron Arts, the former Ilva area, with the two foundries, the new theater and all the buildings that were once part of the large cast iron factory built by Leopold II of Lorraine. Admission to the museum will be free. LUCCA April 24, 5pm Invasion of the Fapim Museum Opened in July 2014, the 600 square meters of the Fapim Museum tells the 40 years story of the Fapim Spa. April 26, 5pm Digital Invasion of the Guidi Museum, Forte dei Marmi The invasion of the wonderful house of Ugo Guidi, to discover the history and the works of the sculptor, with the help of his son. April 28, 4.30pm Digital invasion of the Historical Diocesan Archive Guided tour of the Archive, located in the Archbishop's Palace. The Archive was the first in Lucca to store the stories of citizens through acts and recordings and is been listed in the International Memory Register of UNESCO. PISA April 26, 3pm Vicopisano invasion The Cateratte Ximeniane of San Giovanni alla Vena are a unique place: two factories built on behalf of the Grand Duke of Tuscany, during the reclamation. After the Invasion, a walk and a snack among the olive trees. PISTOIA May 3, 9.30am From castle to castle The Invasion will start from Castel of Serravalle Pistoiese, an open-air museum in a typical Tuscan landscape, and will end in the village of Castellina. A walk through forests and olive groves. SIENA April 26, 3pm The Medieval Sources, San Gimignano The Medieval Sources date back to 1300 and are located in the countryside just outside the walls of the city of San Gimignano.
