The festival that tells the story of Prato through its industrial culture

TIPO Festival is an event dedicated to industrial tourism in Prato, one of Europe's most important textile districts.

The festival opens the doors of factories, companies, workshops, museums and places that symbolize Prato’s manufacturing culture, offering a multi-faceted portrait of the region based on the stories of business, work, research, innovation and sustainability.

Prato is an international reference point for the textile sector and for green fashion: a city where the quality of craftsmanship is intertwined with the tradition of recycling raw materials and with a production model linked to the circular economy.

TIPO Festival offers a chance to enter into this vibrant heritage through extraordinary visits, city itineraries, experiences at production sites, family activities, workshops, performances, exhibitions, meetings and cultural events.

The 2026 edition of the TIPO Festival takes place from October 22 to 25 and is dedicated to the theme of Fabbric’azioni.

The title refers to the "beautiful things" that take shape in factories and throughout the area: fabrics, yarns, research, sustainability, exhibitions, concerts, movies and a wide range of cultural experiences.

This edition also marks a new chapter for the festival thanks to the European project EPIC - Experience Prato Industrial Culture, which enriches the program with new immersive experiences and innovative tools designed to showcase the industrial heritage.

The program includes visits to production sites, shows and performances, itineraries dedicated to art and industrial culture, workshops on recycling and the circular economy, swap parties, activities for families and young people, immersive experiences and virtual reality content.
