Grand opera takes center stage at Palazzo Piccolomini

On Saturday, July 4 at 9.15 PM, the Courtyard of Palazzo Piccolomini in Pienza will host Tre donne, tre destini (Three Women, Three Destinies), an evening event dedicated three great opera heroines, through a journey of passion, revenge and transformation.

The star of the evening will be Chiara Isotton, one of the most acclaimed sopranos on the contemporary opera scene.
A leading voice in the great Verismo and Puccini repertoire, she has performed on major international stages, including La Scala in Milan, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and Teatro Regio in Turin.

She will be joined on stage by tenor Marco Rencinai and pianist Maestro Guglielmo Pianigiani
The dramaturgy and adaptation are by Patrick Cann, a resident actor at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and an independent film director, who will accompany the audience through the three stories with a simple yet compelling theatrical narrative.

The program features a selection of three masterpieces dedicated to extraordinary women, torn between love, duty and destiny.
